It is one of the most important cars that will be launched in India within the last three years and here it is in the metal at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. A small Japanese hatchback, this car has a stylised S for a logo. Yes, it’s the new (Maruti) Suzuki Swift and here it is in Euro-spec format.
We will get a car with the same exterior design which in this case is an evolutionary one. You can see the shape that has defined the Swift hatchback in the modern age, but with a completely new face, wheels and rear-end. In these three, you can see that the face is quite similar to what we have on the latest generation Dzire compact sedan.
Step inside and its standard Suzuki fare with the usual bits and pieces like the switches, instrument cluster and even the touchscreen system being shared with other models. We, in India, are expected to get the same interiors for the Swift, but sans the faux wood inserts and two-tone beige and white trim.
Given how successful the current car has been since it was introduced in 2012, it will come as no surprise if this car picks up where the old one left off. We believe that Maruti Suzuki will showcase the new Swift at Delhi 2018 as the highlight of its stall. Â
