The four time Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel and his team Red Bull, may be looking at the worst start to the 2014 season. The first race this year will begin in Australia and until now the team hasn’t gone too far in the pre-season testing programme.
Red Bull team driver Ricciardo talking candidly to a publication said that the team has no expectations of being at the front just yet.
"Not to play it down, I think if we can finish and start the season with some points, considering the winter we have had, I don't think we will be crying," Ricciardo said.
"If we come out on Friday and we are top five in practice, [top five] in qualifying and then we finish 10th, we will probably be a bit disappointed,” he added.
Ricciardo reckons, however, that the team has made further steps over the past week that could help it deliver on track in Melbourne.
This is certainly no good news for the current F1 Champion Vettel and Red Bull racing. The race weekend will begin tomorrow and all eyes will be glued to the television. Industry experts and competition will be closely watching Red Bull, can Vettel and his team spring a surprise?
