Ford had the facelifted Endeavour on display at the Auto Expo, while everyone was expecting the all-new Endeavour concept to be shown. The images of the concept designed at Australia surfaced recently and it appeared to be robust and aggressive at the same time. Now, an automotive blog has spy pictures of a Ford Ranger being tested on ice in an undisclosed location.
The vehicle caught on test seemed to have the base of a Ranger pick-up truck with a hastily put up rear end from the current Ford Territory and ill-fitting rear doors. The production model of the third generation Endy will look a lot different from the test mule and will be a breakthrough in terms of design language.
Ford will stick to the ladder frame chassis for the new Endeavour and might also introduce new powertrains in it. Although the Endeavour is sold in India, Thailand and south-east Asian countries, the new model might be considered for new markets as well. In India, the Endeavour will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Chevrolet Captiva.
The American auto giant has said that the new Endeavour will be a true off-roader, and will seat seven passengers. There is no word on the launch date yet, but it is rumoured to be launched sometime next year.
