In efforts to continue thrilling auto enthusiasts, Ford has unveiled the 2018 Mustang 5.0 GT with fresh set of upgrades. The new Mustang features advanced technology, a sleeker design and offers better performance in comparison to the current generation. The American automaker further goes on to claim that the new model is indeed the most advanced Mustang to be ever produced.
Ford claims that the legendary 5.0-liter V8 engine has been heavily reworked for better performance. Whereas, the 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine continues in the new year as well and claims to offer better performance figures in compared to the older 3.7-litre V6 engine. Ford’s transient overboost technology is reportedly uniquely calibrated for Mustang, thereby offering more torque for better acceleration. Apart from manual option, both the engine options will also be offered with new 10-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of design, the 2018 Ford Mustang gets an athletic design with a lower, remodeled hood and grille that renders it a leaner look. The aerodynamics has been improved and the vehicle now gets new upper and lower front grilles, and a new position for hood vents. For the first time the entire Mustang line will feature all-LED front lights including signature lighting, low-beams, turn signals, efficient projector high-beams and available fog lamps. The rear section gets new LED tail lamps, new bumper and performance spoiler. The Ecosboost variant gets Dual-tip exhaust as standard, while the V8 Mustang GT gets quad-tip exhaust as standard.
As for the interior, the new 2018 model features premium upholstery, centre console in new hand-stitched wrap and contrast stitching. The vehicle also gets aluminium finished door handles, rings and bezels. Additionally, the instrument panel now sports a new Mustang badge, while the heated steering wheel is offered optional.
