Ford has unveiled a new concept of its Everest/Endeavour SUV in Australia which is expected to lay the foundation for the next generation SUV model. The news follows the recent launch of the Endeavour facelift in Indonesia; one that is expected to arrive at our shores soon.
The concept follows a new design philosophy borrowing cues from the design of the Ecosport and the range of Ford SUVs developed for the American markets. The concept has opted for bold styling which is defined by the chunky chrome grille and sleek head lamps. The concept also features a sloping roof line and wedge shaped C-pillars. Wheel aches and roof rails define the otherwise subtle sides of the SUV.
The rear is wrapped by a thick chrome strip with ‘Everest’ engraved on it. The tail lights also extend to the boot which also holds a lip spoiler. Creases are more defined on the rear and give the concept a muscular and well planted look.
It is unlikely that the final production model will incorporate all of the design cues from the concept but we do like the idea behind this philosophy. The recent facelift did not excite is much but this look worth waiting for. Expect the new Endeavour to hit the markets globally by 2014 implying that the model will arrive on Indian shores by early 2015.
