Over 1,000 customers in the UK have got their hands on the new right-hand-drive Ford Mustang, as total sales have reached 3,500 units. So far, 80 per cent of UK customers have opted for the fastback body style over the convertible and 68 per cent have specified the 416bhp, 5-litre V8 engine.
More statistics show that the 6-speed manual transmission is the slightly more popular choice (54 per cent) over the 6-speed automatic, which comes with paddle shifters.
For the first time in its 50 year old history, the Mustang was officially introduced across Europe last year. The European-spec models come with upgraded brakes, HID Xenon headlamps and 19-inch alloy wheels as standard.
While the right-hand drive Mustang is already on sale in the UK, we will have to wait some more to get a feel of this American icon. Ford India has already shown it at the 2016 Auto Expo and will soon launch the Mustang locally as a halo offering.
