-New-gen Ford Kuga (Escape) to break cover.
-New details of the resurrected Bronco are expected to be divulged.
-New Fiesta-based crossover might also be revealed, albeit in concept/sketch guise.
Ford has announced a global press conference on 2 April which will take place in Amsterdam. At this event, the American carmaker will reveal its new upcoming SUVs of which the new-gen Kuga (or Escape as it is called in some markets) will break cover. Apart from that, new details of the new Bronco and the upcoming Fiesta-based crossover are also expected to be revealed. Most of these new products are bound to India as well.
The teaser video for the Kuga has revealed the Focus-like styling with more curvy design – a departure from Kuga's boxier stance. There are swept back headlamps, gaping grille and a modern tail light design on the new-gen Kuga. Meanwhile, the interior will be more inline with the new crop of Ford’s, like the EcoSport and the Fiesta. Under the skin, things will remain more or less unchanged, except for the inclusion of a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
While debuting the plug-in hybrid at the event, Ford might also extend it to the other models such as the Focus and Fiesta. On the other hand, the much awaited Bronco might also get a mention at press conference next week and we hope to get more details on this iconic 4x4.
Apart from that, we have already spotted the Fiesta-based crossover which might either be a new crossover in Ford’s growing line up of high riding vehicles. This Fiesta-based crossover might be revealed either in concept or design sketch guise as well. This crossover could either be a new-gen version of the highly successful EcoSport or an all-new product as well. If it is the former, Ford might introduce it in developing markets such as Brazil and India as well. More details of upcoming Ford products will be revealed on 2 April. So stay tuned to CarWale for in-depth information on the same.
