American car manufacturer Ford will further expand its presence in the Indian market by unveiling its new compact utility vehicle (likely to be the new Figo Cross). Back in December we revealed the Figo Cross in production form along with a few details on what to expect from the upcoming vehicle. Based on the Figo hatchback, the upcoming vehicle is expected to get more features, equipment and a new Dragon petrol engine.
As seen in images, the upcoming compact utility vehicle is expected to feature a hexagonal mesh grille and sculpted bumper with a blacked out lower half. The vehicle also gets bumper mounted fog lamps and a split racing strip in the centre which adds to its sportiness. As part of its cosmetic enhancement, the vehicle will also get blacked out wing mirrors and roof rails. As for the interior, the new vehicle is expected to feature a new floating touchscreen display which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Ford's SYNC3 connectivity system. It is to be seen if the new compact utility vehicle will offer an automatic climate control system at the time of its launch.
If it is the new Figo Cross, the vehicle might be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is likely to feature the all-new 1.2-litre Dragon series engine which generates about 90bhp of power. The diesel version on the other hand is likely to continue being powered by the existing three-cylinder 1.5-litre Dragon engine which generates 100bhp of power. The soon-to-be unveiled compact vehicle from Ford will compete in the premium hatchback space in the country against the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20 and the new third-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift. More details about the vehicle will be known post its official unveiling in India tomorrow.
