Currently, the automaker is making necessary arrangements to provide replacement for the faulty parts. The concerned customers will be contacted and provided the replacement .Dealers will carry out the necessary work and ensure that the fault is rectified free of cost to the owner.
A company spokesperson said, "The safety of our customers is always top priority at Ford. We have initiated a Field Service Action to correct product concerns on the 20,752 EcoSport vehicles in India. This is a proactive, voluntary recall action to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. The company will also check the vehicles for re-orienting wiring harness related to the correct deployment of side airbags."
Earlier, Ford themselves had recalled 972 units of diesel EcoSports to rectify a part in the engine starting system. Such recalls are a good measure taken by manufacturers themselves to keep checking on the safety of passengers from time to time.
