Ford India will launch the new generation of their flagship SUV, the Endeavour, on January 20. The Ford Endeavour has been around for more than a decade with facelifts coming in at regular intervals.
The Ford Endeavour is a full-size SUV that seats seven people and looks massive. The high bonnet gets the Ford hexagonal grille, wrap around headlamps and a skid plate with integrated fog lamps. On the side, the flared wheel arches dominate the three-box cabin. The tailgate gets a chrome strip across its length with Endeavour engraved on it along with LED tail lamps. Inside the car, the dashboard looks contemporary and comes with a touch-screen display for infotainment. The interiors are dual tone and the cabin is spacious.
The Endeavour comes with two diesel engine options – a 2.2-litre 148bhp mill and a 148bhp mill and a 3.2-litre 197bhp powertrain. While the 2.2 gets a manual option, the 3.2 is available only with an automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel-drive.
The Ford Endeavour will fight it out with the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero and the Chevrolet Trailblazer in the Indian market and is expected to be priced at Rs 24 lakh for the 2.2-litre-MT and about Rs 30 lakh for the 3.2-litre AWD AT.
