Ford has announced that is set to invest more to increase its production of both engines as well as cars in 2012. This will happen when its new plant in Gujarat has reached optimal running level. Also on display is the concept version of its new compact SUV, the EcoSport. The EcoSport will come with a 3-cylinder petrol engine with power expected to be around the 100bhp mark. The engine, called an Eco Boost is a turbocharged unit that only displays 1-litre in capacity. Meant mainly for urban surroundings, Ford is betting big on this small SUV to get its sales soaring in emerging markets like India.
