2017 Ford EcoSport test mules have been spotted on numerous occasions in the international markets. This time around, Ford has revealed that it will be globally unveiling the EcoSport facelift on November 14 in North America. Coincidentally, the occasion also marks the EcoSport’s debut in North American market. The facelifted version is expected to be introduced in India sometime by mid of next year. India recently received a powerful diesel engine version earlier this year.
The India-bound 2017 Ford EcoSport is expected to continue being offered with a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine that generates 99bhp of power, while the petrol versions will continue to be the by a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The international market will however get a new 1.5-litre 'Dragon' three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which might come paired to an AWD system.
As for design, the new model is likely to sport redesigned headlamps and tail-lights, redesigned bumpers and a new hexagonal grille. The side profile is expected to remain the same except for new alloy wheel design. Inside, the compact SUV will get a revised upholstery, new centre console, new steering wheel and Sync infotainment system with a new colour display. More details about the facelift version will be known post its official debut.
