After Ford unveiled the GT concept two years ago at the Detroit Motor Show, the brand has just disclosed details of the engine’s output.
Let get straight to the point. Under the hood of the new GT is the strongest EcoBoost motor ever put together by Ford. Ford’s production version of the GT will use their 3.5-litre biturbo V6 motor that whips up 647bhp at 6,250rpm and spins out an astounding 745Nm of torque. Couple these figures to a coupe that weighs just 1,385kg!
This new GT is slated to be the brand’s fastest production model thanks to the claimed top speed of 347kmph. Ford claims that the 2017 GT has managed quicker lap times than the McLaren 675LT and Ferrari 458 Speciale at the Calabogie Motorsports track in Canada. However, the carmaker is yet to reveal the time it clocks for the 0-100kmph run.
Ford plans to build 250 of these new GTs in a year at the Markham plant in Ontario, Canada. Though production is in full swing, the exact price of the car still remains unknown.
