Ford Motors raised to fame in the country with the EcoSport compact SUV and Figo hatchback launch a few years ago. Witnessing a positive growth in India, the automaker reported a 23 per cent growth in total sales with 26,408 units sold in August this year as compared to 21,520 units sold in same period last year.
Ford’s domestic sales has witnessed a modest 3 percent rise with 8,548 units sold in the August as compared to 8,331 units sold in the same period last year. However, there has been a considerable 35 per cent growth in exports with 17,860 units as compared to 13,189 units exported in the same period last August. Speaking about it, Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, said, “Our increasing export numbers and strong domestic sales prove that the vehicles we build in India are true global products that appeal to customers in India and around the world.”
Ford India has once again started the sales of the Endeavour SUV in Delhi, which was stopped a while ago due to ban on registration of vehicles with bigger diesel engine in the country’s capital. The start of sale of its popular model will mean a further addition to its overall sales in the coming months. The company has also slashed the Figo hatchback price last month by Rs 50,000, while the Aspire sedan is now cheaper by Rs 91,000.
