- The Mach-E is an SUV EV that is slated to be officially unveiled on November 17
- The Mach-E will boast a range of up to 482km
Details of the Ford Mustang Mach-E are out ahead of the official unveil later this week. From the looks of it, sections of a web page holding loads of information to this SUV EV have literally been exposed on the internet.
With the inevitable rise of the EV-era, every name in the OEM and components business are running around like Tom and Jerry to get their hands on some tech that will hold a candle to their future. With Ford having discontinued sedans such as the Taurus, Focus, and Fiesta in the USA and in other markets, they need more high-riding wheelers. And, what’s better than an electrified SUV with the iconic Mustang moniker to juice the adrenaline out of you?
Well, of course, initial costs to own is of high priority currently as the tech to run EVs (read - battery packs) is still far from the desired production scale. Which is an essential factor that allows low-cost production incentives to kick in. So to answer your question, prices should start at about Rs 31.51 lakhs for the base ‘Select’ trim and go all the way up to Rs 43.43 lakhs for the top-end trim ‘GT’.
As for the next most important factor, the Mach-E will claim to have a range of about 482km when using the optional extended-range battery and rear-wheel drive. On the other side of the spectrum, expect the Mach-E GT to scramble to 100kmph in 3.5 seconds, when loaded with all the performance goodies.
Ford is all set to have their Mustang Mach-E EV arrive at showrooms internationally by late 2020. If you’re itching to know more about what else was on that webpage, take a look at the link below.
