- Exciting association of the Mustang moniker with an SUV
- Quickest variant will hit 100kmph in around 3.5 seconds; 459bhp/830Nm on tap
- RWD/AWD configuration; maximum range of 482km
I wouldn’t say that Ford went overboard with the Mustang moniker for their new Electric SUV. It simply borderlines on having just the right amount of design influence; especially when viewed from the rear.
But that aside, it is slated to go up against Tesla’s upcoming Model Y, and we admit that the Blue Oval has atleast got the design language/appeal spot-on. If you thought it ends here, take a look at the interior design which is simply captivating thanks to that gigantic 15.5-inch touchscreen system. Not only is it one of the largest screens available today, it actually matches an enlarged smartphone standing upright on the centre-console!
As for the specs, the Mustang Mach-E will be offered with both RWD and AWD, and will have up to 459bhp/830Nm (GT Performance Edition) depending on the version. Ford claims that this GT Performance Edition can sprint to 100kmph from standstill in about 3.5 seconds. Furthermore, the most frugal variant can dish-out a range of 482km, which by far should suffice for most users.
Although prices for the Mustang Mach-E ranges from Rs 31.44-43.34 lakhs, customers can currently only book the limited First Edition model (starts at Rs 42.91 lakhs), or the Premium model (retails for Rs 36.25 lakhs). Both these versions are expected to be delivered to buyers in late 2020. On the other hand, deliveries for the rest of the Mach-E versions are expected by early 2021.
