Ford launched the much awaited Mustang GT in India last month. In a short time span, the American automaker already sold about 35 units in the country, thereby earning Mustang GT the title of being the country’s best selling sportscar. Impressive performance and long standing history in the international market has been a reason behind its success in India.
The newly launched Ford Mustang in India gets a 5.0-litre V8 engine which puts out about 395bhp of power and 515Nm of torque. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle is capable of sprinting from 0 – 100kmph in just about four seconds and can achieve a top speed of about 250kmph. The numbers for Mustang GT sales are definitely impressive in comparison to its competitor cars which are powered by 5.0-litre V8 engine and above, yet only sell about 6-10 units a year.
At its current pace, Ford expects to see a further rise in demand for the Mustang GT in India. The new model is available in shades of absolute black, ingot silver, oxford white, triple yellow tricoat, magnetic and signature race red. The muscle car gets HID lights on the front, LED tail lamps, rear diffuser, and 19-inch wheels. As for features it gets a dual zone climate control, 9 speaker sound system, and SYNC-2 connectivity.
