Ford has launched a special edition of the EcoSport crossover for the Japanese market. Dubbed the ‘Bright Yellow’ edition, its production has been limited to 70 units and is priced at 2,530,000 Yen (Rs 13.22 lakh).
This special edition is available only in the Titanium trim level. This means standard driver aids include ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control while the cabin gets the grey and black leather trim with six-speaker system and Ford’s very SYNC communication system. The American automaker is also offering the OVRMs and wheel cover in six different contrast shades.
Sitting under the hood of this special edition is the 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 109bhp and 140Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed AT. The Japanese EcoSport is 4.1-metres in length making it marginally larger than its Indian sibling though both vehicles are manufactured at the same facility outside Chennai.
We in India have had the EcoSport for around 1.5-years and believe that on its second anniversary, Ford will bring out a special edition to mark the occasion.
