The Ford Ka+/India -bound Figo sedan has been unveiled in Brazil and is expected to go on sale from September this year. Along with unveiling the car, Ford has also partially previewed the Brazilian-spec Ka's interiors which are likely to remain the same if we are to go by the rules of the ‘One Ford’ programme.
We already know what the car will look like from the outside thanks to its global debut in Delhi just before the 2014 Auto Expo. However, this is the first time that any details of the interiors have been revealed. From the pictures we can see that the Ka+/Figo sedan will get an instrument cluster that features large gauges for the speedo, tacho and the fuel levels. It is expected that there will also be the usual set of tell-tale lights which are expected to appear either between the speedo and the fuel gauge or on the left side of the latter. There are also steering mounted audio controls, a step up from the current car which is a stalk behind the wheel.
Other details that have been revealed in the pictures include the design of the centre console (which is very similar to that of the Fiesta sedan/hatchback), HVAC controls and most importantly the fact that the car is expected to be trimmed out on the inside in a shade of dull grey.
It has also been revealed that the Ka+ will be sold with the 1.5-litre petrol engine from the Fiesta and a new 1.0-litre naturally aspirated ethanol powered engine that is capable of producing 85bhp. This is believed to be a derivative of the EcoBoost engine and is expected to make its way to India with a similar kind of rating. However, for the Indian market we expect that the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.4-litre diesel will also continue duty once the car is launched.
