Ford exhibited the Ka Urban Warrior at the Sao Paulo Motor Show 2018. It's a concept that showcases the modifications done to the standard Ka four-door sedan sold in South America. A jacked up sedan is not something new since Volvo already has the S60 Cross Country. However, all these exciting changes on a budget sedan? Now these pictures should spark some more interest.
This concept car differs from the standard car and yet looks so close to production. It boasts of an increased ground clearance and retuned suspension.
Ford's design language is carried over from the Ka or for that matter the Aspire. But, look closely and the front end will remind you that it looks so much similar to the Freestyle.
The beefier appearance is thanks to the black plastic cladding all around. This is generally seen on SUVs and crossovers to make it look rugged.
Ford has managed to pull this look off on this sedan with 15-inch wheels and especially the decorative plates. The latter mimic the protective plate to the underbody.
And to match the alloys with chunkier-than-usual-tyres, the mirrors also get a gun metal grey colour. These small tweaks further help in differentiating it from the standard sedan.
Inside the cabin, the layout remains the same like the regular sedan. However, an all-black treatment makes the cabin look more casual than elegant.
It continues to get the features including the 6.5-inch touchscreen system with Ford's SYNC 3. It also has support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
There is no confirmation about any changes to the powertrain options. We can expect the carmaker to use the same engine and gearbox options if in case the concept ever goes into production.
