Ford India has just teased the facelifted EcoSport through the car’s official Facebook page. Set to go on sale sometime this month, this new model will feature a host of cosmetic upgrades to keep it refreshed in the hotly contested compact SUV segment.
The teaser image released by Ford shows the headlights and the front grille of the facelifted car. The headlights even come loaded with daytime running lights (DRL) – a feature that is currently available as an optional extra.
While the Euro-spec facelifted model comes with a host of mechanical upgrades for overall NVH levels and driving dynamics, Ford India will limit the changes to just the cosmetic bits. Unlike the Euro-spec model which can be had without a rear-mounted spare wheel, Ford India will continue to offer the EcoSport with its spare wheel on the tailgate.
The facelifted EcoSport will continue to be available with three engine options – 1.5 litre petrol and diesel units and the award-winning 1-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine. The car will be launched later this year with prices nearly the same as the existing model. When launched, the facelifted EcoSport will continue to compete with the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
