- Ford’s domestic sales stood at 8,239 units, exports grew to 11,749 units.
- Combined sales of 19,988 vehicles last month is up from 16,525 vehicles in the same month last year.
- Ford will launch the Aspire facelift in India this month.
Ford India managed to sell 8,239 units in the country in the month of September 2018. This is down from 8,769 units in the same month last year. However, exports grew to 11,739 vehicles last month compared to 7,756 units in September 2017. The overall sales grew by 20 per cent as the American carmaker dispatched 19,988 vehicles in September 2018 over 16,525 vehicles in the same month last year.
Commenting on the sales in September, Anurag Mehrotra, president and managing director, Ford India, said, “The festival season has started on a lower than expected note, owing to floods in Kerala, rising fuel prices and Rupee depreciation. The industry is looking forward to closing the festive season on a higher note,”. “At Ford, we are excited to bring the Aspire on 04 October and look forward to welcoming customers at our dealerships.”
Ford is gearing up for the launch of the Aspire facelift in the country. The compact sedan will get a revised styling with a completely revamped interior. The Freestyle inspiration will be seen on the fascia and the interiors where it will get the floating touchscreen with Sync3 infotainment system. And under the hood, the new 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine will be making its debut as well. Bookings for the Aspire have commenced already.
Moreover, as a part of their CSR, Ford employees came together to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism as part of the Global Caring Month. The employees undertook close to 47 projects across Chennai, Sanand, Gurgaon/NCR, and the company announced the expansion of its ‘Happy Schools’ initiative in Gurgaon/NCR as well. Also, the Happy Schools program in Gurgaon/NCR will cover 10 Government/Aided primary schools in the first phase, benefitting more than 1,000 children.
