Ford India sold 12,762 units of cars in November this year, while the company had sold 12,050 vehicles in the same month in 2013. This shows a 5.57 per cent hike in overall sales.
The manufacturer sold 5,661 cars in India this November as compared to the 7,909 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The company also exported more vehicles (7,101 units) than what they did in November last year (4,141 units).
Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, said, "The perceived improvement in consumer sentiment is yet to translate into better sales for the automotive industry. A lacklustre festive season was certainly not what the industry expected. While we are confident of the long-term growth potential of the Indian market, we continue to be cautiously optimistic in the near-term."
Ford also recorded good sales in October as special offers were introduced by the company for cars like the Figo, Classic, Fiesta and Endeavour. The EcoSport still has a good demand ever since it was launched in 2013 and continues to drive the sales momentum for the manufacturer.
Ford is extending its services within India to reach out to more customers across the country. They recently inaugurated five new touch points in Chandigarh tri-city and Punjab and also started the retail distribution of Ford genuine service parts through their first official distributor in Delhi. Soon this service will expand, with availability of these parts in Maharashtra, East of India, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The carmaker also aims to enhance the ownership experience by offering additional offers like Happy Pocket service and Quick Lane services.
