Ford India has sold 10,026 units sold in the first month of 2011 against 2453 units sold over the same period last year. The closest the company got to the 10,000 mark was in March 2010 and now they have surpassed this magical figure as well. The Ford Figo itself contributed to 8,600 units in January.
According to Michael Boneham, president and managing director of Ford India, "2010 was a landmark year for us, with Ford nearly tripling its annual sales volume. Now we’ve begun 2011 with record-setting January sales. We have carried the momentum of last year's terrific performance into the new year by crossing the 10,000-unit sales mark"
The Figo has already won accolades and having sold 68,000 units since its launch in March 2010, it has infact adhered to the liking of the consumers in India. Ford India have already set forth a plan of bringing aome new cars this year and we feel that the Fiesta will be one of them. Ford is infact working towards increasing its dealer network and now the company has more than 170 outlets in more than 100 cities in India. We await in anticipation for the stable doors to open and the horses(cars) come racing out this year.
