Ford India has been managing to average sales of about 8,000 units of sale every month for the past year. With its three volume products, the Figo, the Aspire and the Ecosport holding up steady, Ford has managed to sell 8,769 cars in September locally while exporting 7,756 units.
In August, Ford had managed to sell 7,777 units in India. While the sales seem to be on the rise again, the overall numbers are down as compared to September 2016, when Ford managed to sell over 9,000 units and had exported over 13,000 cars. Ford seems to have missed the festive bus with the delayed launch of the new Ecosport and it will certainly have a bearing on the overall success of the new Ecosport. We expect Ford to launch the Ecosport by the end of October after the public debut of its all-new Dragon engine that is set to power the new-Ecosport and probably a new C-segment sedan in the pipeline.
Ford has started exploring options with Mahindra Group for a strategic alliance that would help both the car makers in the Indian car market as well as abroad. Ford is also working towards its long-term vision to help make people’s lives better by changing the way the world moves with world-class vehicles, mobility services and a wider range of transportation solutions.
