Ford India's overall sales figures, including exports last month, was reported as 12,576 units. This shows a 2.64 per cent growth as Ford's cumulative sales in February 2014 were 12,253 units.
However, the domestic sales figures show a decline of 12.35 per cent in total sales, for February 2015. The company sold 5,959 units last month while they had sold 6,799 units in the same month in 2014. The exports during the last month stood at 6,617 units as against to 5,454 units in the corresponding period last year.
Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India, said, "We welcome the government’s clear focus on promoting infrastructure and investment as indicated in the Union Budget. This will have an indirect effect on the growth of the automotive sector, which is one of the biggest contributors to GDP. We also compliment the government for outlining the roadmap for GST implementation. A concerted effort to strike a balance between economic and social indicators for growth has been outlined by the Government, which is certainly positive and encouraging."
Ford India has extensive plans for 2015 and might introduce the new range of Figo cars this year. This includes the Ford Figo compact sedan as well as the hatchback. These highly anticipated cars should unquestionably help the company report brighter sales figures.
