Ford India has issued a recall for approximately 42,300 Figo and Figo Aspire models. The recall affects all cars made in Ford’s new Sanand plant since its launch on April 12, 2016. A few days ago we wrote about the how the sales of these cars had been halted (you can read it here).
The affected vehicles are dealing with a software issue in the Restraint Control Module (RCM) which could result in the airbags not deploying in time in the event of a collision. Customers can now get their car’s software upgrade carried out free of charge through a Ford dealership.
The software upgrade has been already carried out with cars in stock with Ford dealers leading to deliveries being restarted of the Figo and Figo Aspire.
