Ford India has sold a total of 10,865 units in December 2015, down by 25 per cent over the sales figures in December 2014. Overall sales for the American manufacturer have grown by 14.75 per cent year on year for the calendar year 2015.
While the local sales for passenger cars grew by 57.8 per cent to 5,924 units from 3,754 units sold in December year on year, the exports have dipped to 4,942 units from 10,647 units. The decline in exports is because of the devastating Chennai floods that brought production to a halt at the beginning of December.
Domestic sales for the year 2015 are steady at 77,715 vehicles sold as against the 77,140 units sold in 2014. The exports have grown by 29 per cent to 99,143 units in 2015 as against the 76,981 units from 2014.
Ford India has launched the Figo Aspire compact sedan, Figo hatchback and the updated Ford EcoSport SUV last year. The all new Ford Endeavour will grace the Indian shores before the Auto Expo to be held in Delhi next month.
