In attempts to boost the Figo sales in the country, Ford is likely to introduce a Sports variant in the country sometime soon. Reports indicate that the new variant might be based on the Titanium variant and feature sporty upgrades to make it stand apart from its regular model. Under the hood, the vehicle is expected to be powered by existing engine options.
The current generation of Ford Figo is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission to put out 87bhp of power and 112Nm of torque, while the diesel version gets a 1.5-litre TDCi engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission to generate 99bhp of power and 215Nm of torque. Though unlikely, it is to be seen if the Sports variant will also be offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which comes mated to an automatic transmission and generates 110bhp of power and 136Nm of torque.
In efforts to distinguish it from a regular variant, the Figo Sports variant is likely to feature new tweaked grille, dual tone paint scheme, 15-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. The ORVMs are also likely to get contrasting shades. As for the interior, it might get sportier leather upholstery with contrast stitching and leather wrapped steering wheel. Though the pricing aspect is not known for now, we believe it might be priced slightly higher than the Titanium Figo variant.
