The soon-to-be launched Ford Figo Sports model has been spotted at a dealer yard. It is expected to be launched later this month and is based on the top-of-the-line Titanium variant and will be offered across petrol and diesel engine options.
In the photos, we can see that this car gets the Sports variant of the Figo with the black pack option seen on the EcoSport. This includes a blacked out roof, grille, mirrors and wheels which sport a slightly different design from the standard options. There are no photos of the cabin but we believe that Ford will include the touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control options for this variant.
The diesel engine sitting under the hood in the model that has been spotted is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit producing 99bhp/215Nm with power going to the front wheels via a five-speed manual. The petrol models are expected to be powered by the 1.2-litre four pot as well as the 1.5-litre unit for the AT variants. There is a possibility that Ford might introduce a 1.0-litre EcoBoost-engined variant to match the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GT, Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS as well as the Fiat Abarth Punto.
Ford is likely to price these Sports badged models at least Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the price of the standard variants. Even with this increase in price, it will still undercut all its competition by a decent margin making it a cost effective option.
