Ford has finally launched their highly anticipated next-gen Figo hatchback. The car looks similar to the Figo Aspire sub-four metre sedan and is packed with a good amount of equipment and safety features like its elder sibling.
The new Figo is available in six variants namely Base, Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+; similar to the nomenclature of the Aspire variants. Based on the petrol and diesel engine options, these are further classified into thirteen variants.
Ford Figo Base
1.2L Ti-VCT- Rs 4.29 lakh
1.5L TDCi - Rs 5.29 lakh
Unlike the Ford Aspire sedan, what Ford has done for the Figo is introduced a new base version to offer customers the hatchback at an affordable price. In fact, this price undercuts the base prices of the Figo's competitors by a decent margin. However, with a low price consumers should also know that with this variant of the Figo, there are no power windows, only one OVRM at the driver's side, the front seat misses out on map seat pockets and there will be no door ajar warning and no tachometer. Needless to say, the base variant doesn't get many features, but still gets one driver side airbag as a safety feature.
Ford Figo Ambiente
1.2L Ti-VCT- Rs 4.56 lakh
1.5L TDCi - Rs 5.62 lakh
The Ambiente trim gets dual front airbags as standard, showing how well Ford has played on the safety front. The Figo in this trim gets tilt adjustable steering, MID with gear shift indicator but no tachometer, black coloured ORVMs on both sides, dual tone interiors, fabric upholstery, map pockets, 12V accessory socket and a passenger vanity mirror. The list continues with an auto door lock, front power windows with one touch up-down function on the driver side, guide me home headlamps, adjustable front and rear headrests, engine immobilizer and central locking.
Ford Figo Trend
1.2L Ti-VCT- Rs 5 lakh
1.5L TDCi- Rs 5.97 lakh
This is the third variant, which in addition to the features from the Ambiente, gets front fog lamps, ORVMs integrated with side indicators which are also electrically adjustable and body coloured door handles. There is chrome surround for the front grille, black interior applique, fabric door inserts, driver vanity mirror, tachometer with gear shift indicator, chrome tip for gear lever, rear power windows and a boot lamp. There is also a mobile docking station (MyFord Dock) with 2-Din audio system with 4 speakers, USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted audio and phone controls.
Ford Figo Trend+
1.2L Ti-VCT- Rs 5.25 lakh
1.5L TDCi- Rs 6.22 lakh
Ford has introduced an additional Trend+ plus variant in which customers can opt for some equipment from the higher trim over the standard Trend variant. Ford still hasn’t revealed the equipment list and we shall update this list on confirmation about the same.
Ford Figo Titanium
1.2L Ti-VCT- Rs 5.75 lakh
1.5L TDCi- Rs 6.72 lakh
1.5L Ti-VCT Automatic- Rs 6.92 lakh
With the Titanium variant, Ford has added the premium comfort and safety features in addition to the features available in the Trend trim. This list includes automatic climate control, electric folding ORVMs, height adjustable driver seat, driver height adjustable seat belts with reminder, rear de-fogger, ABS with EBD, perimeter alarm, chrome front grille and 14-inch alloy wheels. The 1.5-litre petrol automatic mill is only available in this variant and gets exclusive features such as ESP, Hill Start Assist and a Traction control system.
Ford Figo Titanium+
1.2L Ti-VCT- Rs 6.40 lakh
1.5L TDCi- Rs 7.4 lakh
The Titanium receives standard dual front, side and curtain airbags, which makes it the only car in its segment to further augment the safety quotient with overall six airbags. This top-of-the-line variant has all the features from other trims and additionally gets leather upholstery, CD/MP3 player with 4.2-inch multi-function display, emergency assistance, Ford SYNC and the app link. There is Ford MyKey as well which helps an owner to program the car as per his choice. These different levels of customisation include speed controlling, audio level, shut down of music until the driver wears the seat belt etc.
The range topping Titanium+ variant will provide all the features and more importantly the utmost level of safety that can be secured with the Figo. However, for prospective buyers who cannot extend their budget by as much should at least opt for the Titanium variant. It will provide a reasonable amount of safety features combined with all the creature comforts.
