The previous generation Fiesta, which was sold in India as the Fiesta Classic will now be sold in India sans ‘Fiesta’ badging. The car is now called the Ford Classic and starts at Rs 5.53 lkh (ex-showroom Delhi). Apart from the name, the American manufacturer has also made a few changes to the vehicle to make it more attractive.
The important piece bit though is that Ford has reduced prices of the Classic across all variants. On the exteriors the car now gets a new set of alloy wheels, boot spoiler, along with few other changes. The top-end variant also gets fog lamps, rear-fogger and a music system with blue-tooth connectivity, with basic safety features like front airbags and ABS.
As expected, there are no changes under the hood. The Classic is still powered by the 1.6-litre Duratec petrol and 1.4-litre Duratorq diesel engines. Obviously, there are few changes to manage the price cut and the sedan now shares more components with the Figo hatchback. Nevertheless, the Classic will still be a very capable sedan and now with even more attractive pricing.
