The Ford Everest (Endeavour for India) has been launched in China for 269,800 Yuan (Rs 27.90 lakh). It is being offered in the Chinese market with two diesels and one petrol engine. It is based on the Ranger pickup truck.
In terms of external design, the China market Everest is no different from the one that will be launched in India save for the China-specific badging. The cabin too has been carried over from the global design but has been trimmed out in grey as compared to the Indian models which will be offered in beige and black.
The diesel engine range comprises a 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre turbocharged unit that produce 150bhp/380Nm and 200bhp/470Nm respectively. The petrol on the other hand is a 2.3-litre EcoBoost unit that produce 238bhp/360Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed AT.
The SUV will be produced for the Chinese market through the Jiangling-Ford JV. As for India, Ford has said that it will launch the SUV here by the end of this year.
