While the new Ford Endeavour has met reasonably good success, overall sales for the Toyota Fortuner have fallen. This has also let the Endeavour outsell the Fortuner's sales last month.
Ford sold 560 units of the Endeavour, while Toyota managed to sell only 509 Fortuners last month. The sales figures over the last couple of months show that the Fortuner's sales have fallen to half of what the car managed six months ago. In November 2015, 1,058 units of the Fortuner were sold as opposed to less than half last month. On the contrary, the newly launched Endeavour has climbed up on the sales chart inch by inch to finally surpass the sales of the Fortuner last month.
The sales trend in this upper half of the D-segment has had a mixed response. While most cars here are hovering at less than 200 units per month, it’s only the Endeavour that has shown a stellar performance. It definitely deserves an applause for keeping the buyers interested. Nevertheless, even if the Fortuner’s sales are dropping, it should be noted that Toyota has the new Fortuner ready for the end of this year or early next year, to bring back their sales numbers.
