We recently brought to you the spy shots of the updated Ford Endeavour which is expected to be unveiled soon. However, our photographers have done some overtime and spotted the pick-up version of the same SUV, expected to be the Wildtrak variant.
The spied vehicle wore a camo all over to hide the updates but we anticipate that the new pick-up will sport an aggressively styled grille and bumpers. The images show that the side silhouette are likely to be the same, however, the details and the styling may differ from the current generation. Expected to be the Wildtrak edition the pick-up will boast of a higher ground clearance. We also expect some minor styling tweaks to make it stand out from the standard pick-up.
Even though we expect the changes to be restricted to the cosmetics only, mechanically the SUV may carry the same under pinning from its predecessor. Powering the pick-up would be the same 3.2-litre in-line five cylinder diesel motor producing 197bhp. The power will be transferred to the wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox mated to a four-wheel drivetrain.
The SUV is popularly known as the Ranger in the Asia-Pacific markets and it is speculated that the Americans will dub it the next gen Bronco. We expect the Ranger Wildtrak edition to be launched later next year and could be dubbed as the 2019 model. It is unlikely that Ford will launch the pick-up in the Indian markets, however, when launched in the international markets, the Ford Endeavour Ranger will be at par with the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.
