Ford Endeavour launched at Rs 24.75 lakh

Ford India has finally lifted the curtains off its long-awaited SUV, the all-new Endeavour. This SUV is priced between Rs 24.75 lakh and Rs 29.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The visual aura of the new Endeavour is characterised by the front end that carries a tall bonnet and huge grille which lends a distinct muscular look to this SUV. Prominent flared wheel arches and 18-inch wheels draped with wide tyres add to the bulky SUV appeal. The rear end is highlighted by the silver accents on the bumper and the chrome strip in the centre that’s flanked by the tail lamps. 

The Endeavour will come with leather upholstery, powered driver’s seat, rear camera, powered tailgate, an auto-dimming mirror, automatic HID head lamps and semi-auto parallel park assist. Buyers can also get up to seven airbags, ESP, traction control, hill launch assist and hill descent control. There’s a TFT touch-screen music system with 10 speakers and a Sync system with voice control along with the regulars.

Two diesel engines are on offer under the hood; a 2.2-litre engine that makes 160bhp and 385Nm of torque coupled to either a manual or an automatic transmission. And the 3.2-litre motor that pumps out 200bhp and 470Nm of torque will only be seen on the 4WD version with an automatic box. The new Endeavour will be made available to buyers in sunset red, golden bronze, diamond white, moondust silver, panther black and smoke grey. Expect Ford’s new entrant to take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero and the Chevrolet Trailblazer in India.
