Ford India will officially launch the EcoSport Titanium S in the country on 14 May 2018. The top-of-the-line variant of the compact crossover will be powered by Ford’s 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. It will be offered in the 1.5-litre diesel guise as well. Ford will also introduce the EcoSport Signature Edition on the same day.
The EcoSport Titanium S will get additional features and slightly updated styling. The Titanium S and the Signature Edition will sit on stylish 17-inch wheels. The smoked HID headlamps, darkly finished grille and fog lamp inserts besides a black painted roof will add to the styling appeal. Ford will offer sunroof as well which the carmaker likes to call as “funroof”. The crossover will also get a new Satin orange paint scheme.
On the inside, the feature list will include a tweaked 4.2-inch instrument cluster and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The cabin will be colour coordinated with the exterior, so there will be orange highlights on the seats and door panels along with centre console and dashboard. A new six-speed manual gearbox could also be a part of the package.
Meanwhile, the Signature Edition, which is based on the Titanium+ trim, will sport a rear spoiler, all-black interior with highlights and contrast stitching. It will get a unique Anodised Blue paint job with a colour coordinated interior. Additionally, it will also get safety features like electronic stability control (ESC) and hill start assist (HLA). The Signature Edition will be powered by the same 1.5-litre Dragon petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
The new top-spec Ecosport might be priced at a premium of Rs 60,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the top-spec Titanium+. This will bring its price tag close to Rs 12 lakhs, ex-showroom. With the update, the EcoSport will continue to take on the rivals such as updated Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V, and Tata Nexon in its segment.
