Ford's EcoSport will soon be updated with a new touch screen system and alloy wheels as seen in the new pictures. The new features will, however, be available in the top-spec Titanium optional variant only.
The exterior updates include a black roof and new design pattern for the alloy wheels. Closer inspection reveals that the tyre size has also been altered from 205/60 R16 to Apollo Alnac 4G 205/50 R17. The updated EcoSport benefits from cruise control and a new touch screen system, which was a much needed feature. The 8-inch display fits in the housing of the Ford Sync system replacing it. It supports DVD video playback, navigation and comes paired to a rear-view camera.
The upcoming updated EcoSport will continue to be powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options, producing 100bhp of power and 205Nm of torque and 110bhp power and 140Nm torque respectively. There is also a 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine which will continue to be offered. The transmission options include a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox.
It should be noted that this Ford EcoSport is not the updated compact SUV that was unveiled in Brasil recently. This one is based on the current EcoSport available in India and will be offered with the aforementioned features. Ford is expected to launch this soon as a stopgap model before the launch the fully facelifted model for the Indian market.
