Ford has displayed the production version of the EcoSport SUV at the Shanghai Motor Show. The production version is very similar to the concept displayed at the Auto Expo in Delhi in January this year. The headlamps have changed to conventional bulb and reflector units, but everything else remains similar, giving it the right amount of aggression for the kind of vehicle it is.
The EcoSport will be sold in over 100 countries worldwide, but will be built at three factories in Brazil, India and Thailand. It will be powered by the new three-cylinder 1.0-litre EcoBoost powerplant that produces 118PS and 170Nm of torque. The Titanium version of the EcoSport shown sported 16-inch alloy wheels, Sync with voice control, smart keyless entry, push-button start and glovebox cooling.
When the EcoSport makes its way to India, it is expected to retail at Rs 7-8 lakh.
