Ford had recently launched the updated EcoSport in India. This time around, Ford has mildly upgraded the equipment list on its popular selling compact SUV, along with a slight increase in price, by Rs 5,000 – Rs 10,000 depending on the variant. Owing to the fresh revision in prices, the price for the base EcoSport variant now starts at Rs 7,82,200 (ex-showroom, India).
As part of the upgrade, the car comes with rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock and passenger seat belt reminder as standard across all variants. Moreover, the Trend variant also gets a rear view camera this time around. Except for the base Ambient variant, all other variants also get an updated 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC and navigation.
Features like ambient lighting and My Key which was earlier offered in the Titanium variant has now been limited to the top-spec Titanium+ variant. Under the hood, it continues to be powered by existing engine options. The 1.5-litre, three-cylinder dragon petrol engine generates 121bhp of power at 6,500rpm and 150Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine generates 99bhp at 3,750rpm and 205Nm of torque between 1,750-3,250 rpm. Five-speed manual transmission is standard, while the petrol version gets a six-speed automatic option.
