Ford is likely to launch the India spec EcoSport in four trim levels and with three engine options. The three standard variants are Ambiente, Trend and Titanium of which the third one was on display in malls across the country during a promotional event. The fourth variant is called Titanium Optional that has extra features over the Titanium variant. The India-spec EcoSport will be offered with a 1.5-litre petrol mill in addition to the turbocharged 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine and the 1.5-litre Fiesta sourced diesel mill.
Despite being a base variant, the Ambiente will be offered with features like front power windows, electrically adjustable mirrors, AUX in with USB and Bluetooth connectivity and remote locking.
The Trend variant adds ABS and EBD, rear power windows, rear defogger and wiper, steering- mounted audio controls, driver’s seat height adjustment, a rear parcel tray and silver door handles and centre console.
The Titanium variant includes alloy wheels, climate control, a front arm rest, front fog lamps, chrome accents on the outside, dual airbags, SYNC technology and reverse parking sensors. This is the only variant in which the 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine and the six-speed Power Shift automatic gearbox are offered. The Titanium Optional variant includes push button start, keyless entry and curtain airbags and by the look of it, this is the variant featured in the first brochure released by Ford.
Ford is expected to launch the EcoSport for the Indian market in June and is likely to price it in the range of Rs 6.5 to Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
