Ford EcoSport interiors spied

The Ford EcoSport is now officially one of the most discussed and highly anticipated launches for the Indian market in 2013. Its Indian innings began with test models being spotted outside Ford’s factory in Chennai and eventually the same demo car (savannah orange with an MH-43 registration plate) being spotted in Mumbai and then Banglore just a week apart. Now the team at Rushlane have published pictures of the interiors of the EcoSport. 

The pictures show us that interiors of the EcoSport is pretty much the same as the Brazilian spec cars as well as the ones displayed on Ford India’s official EcoSport page. With this sub-four metre SUV Ford has brought in its kinetic design philosophy which we first saw on the Ford Fiesta hatchback a few years ago.

This interiors includes analogue gauges, steering mounted audio controls (phone included), colour display, CD player with radio and USB, light blue backlighting as well as climate control. It is likely that some of these features as well as others like a cooling glove-box and Ford’s patented SYNC technology will only be available on the top-end Titanium variant. The EcoSport that was snapped up also features all around power windows, internally adjustable OVRMs and three-speed wipers. 

The Ford EcoSport is one of the most highly anticipated products from the American automaker for 2013. It is a sub-four metre crossover and will be powered by the 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine which produces 128bhp and 170Nm of torque as well as the 1.5-litre diesel mill which produces 90bhp, 204Nm of torque and currently sits in the Fiesta sedan. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Ford dealers have already begun taking bookings for the EcoSport and are charging between Rs 25000 to Rs 50000. We expect Ford to price the EcoSport in the range of Rs seven to Rs 11 lakh and this will allow the American automaker to pit the car against the Renault Duster.
