Yes, the second last piece in the EcoSport puzzle has been revealed. In a move that was almost guaranteed to happened, the brochure for the highly anticipated Ford EcoSport crossover seems to have made its way to the internet ahead of what is believed to be a June 11 launch for the vehicle.
The EcoSport will be offered in seven different colours of which the shade we have been calling Savanah orange is actually called Mars red. The Ambiente and trend variants will only be offered with steel wheels while the Titanium and the top of the line Titanium Optional get 16-inch alloy wheels as standard. This also continues to the spare wheel that incidentally now gets a body coloured cover. The interiors will be offered with two dual tone options with leather trim only on the Titanium optional.
In terms of engines the EcoSport gets the 1.5-litre diesel from the Fiesta that produces 91PS and 204Nm of torque. The petrol line-up includes 1.0-litre Ecoboost mill that produces 125PS and 170Nm of torque as well as a 1.5-litre mill that produces 112PS and 140Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or the six-speed Powershift automatic (1.5-litre petrol engine only) from the Fiesta sedan.
We have already driven the car are now waiting for Ford to announce a launch date and obviously the prices. . Ford is expected to price the EcoSport in the region of 6.50 lakh to Rs 12.50 lakh for the top-of-the-line Titanium Optional diesel.
