The most eagerly awaited vehicle of the year is yet to be launched. However, the good news is that Ford has begun rolling the crossover from Marimalai Nagar plant and that means that the car is going to be launched within the next ten to twelve days. Bookings for the EcoSport have already begun and dealers are charging Rs 50, 000 as the amount irrespective of the variant.
The American automaker has invested over 142 million USD (Rs 830 Crore) in its Chennai plant to facilitate the production of the EcoSport. It is also one of the five locations globally where the compact crossover is being produced.
The EcoSport is based on the American automaker’s new B-platform (not to be confused with the old one from the late 80s and early 1990s) that underpins vehicles like the B-Max MPV and the Fiesta hatchback. These are all vehicles that come under Ford global car portfolio; basically at least one model from this line up will be available in every market that Ford sells its vehicles in.
As we have been saying for the last many months in various stories about spy shots, interior shots and sightings-we are eagerly awaiting the launch of the EcoSport and want you (our loyal readers) to stay tuned to us as we will bring you all the details from the launch.
