Ford’s second generation Kuga SUV has begun testing and has been photographed in Spain, though the design of the new car is still cleverly hidden under a modified body of the current model. Nonetheless it’s clear the Kuga II will become more spacious, more efficient, more dynamic and lighter.
When the covers come off the new Kuga in November 2019, it will be the second model to be based on Ford’s new C-platform, following the sporty but smaller Focus CUV which itself is the successor of the C-Max MPV.
Right from the start, the new Kuga will be available as a hybrid with a 150-hp 3-cylinder diesel assisted by an 88 kW electric motor. This variant will come with front wheel drive and a CVT.
The most powerful diesel will deliver 184 hp through a 7-speed auto, the RS variant will come with a 284-hp petrol unit and an 8-speed automatic.
