Ford is continuing to test its EcoSport compact crossover just a short while before its launch for the Indian market. This time the car (in a shade of bright yellow) has been spied testing near Guindy in Chennai by the Team at Indianautosblog.
The EcoSport is one of the most highly anticipated vehicles from the American automaker. Ford unveiled the India spec model during the launch of its Urban Discoveries contest and has been displaying the car at various locations across the country.
It is a sub four metre compact crossover and will be powered by one petrol engine, the 1.0-litre Ecoboost and one diesel engine; the 1.5-litre oil burning mill that currently powers the Fiesta sedan. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox or the six-speed dual clutch (petrol only).
Ford is likely to launch the EcoSport in May for the Indian market and has said that it plans to export the Chennai made EcoSport to over 50 countries and will use this to set a competitive price for it when it is launched.
