Ford cars get price cut of up to Rs 30,000

Ford has announced that the benefits after implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be passed on to customers. As such, prices of the Figo, Aspire and EcoSport have been dropped by up to Rs 30,000.

With the current tax structure being replaced by GST, there has been a drop in duties levied on automobiles. Several car segments fall in a lower tax bracket than before, and manufacturers have been passing on the benefit to customers. As for Ford, the price cut itself varies within the portfolio. EcoSport customers will save Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, while the smaller cars like Figo and Aspire will become more affordable by Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 depending upon the trims.

Speaking to PTI, Vinay Raina, Ford India VP Sales said, "We are happy to pass on (to customers) the expected benefits of GST ahead of its actual implementation.” We can expect other manufacturers to follow suit.
