Like the yet to be launched Ford Figo Sports, the Aspire will also get a Sports version this April. Changes are expected to be limited to cosmetic upgrades, while mechanically it will continue to be powered by existing engine options. Reports indicate that the upcoming Aspire Sports might be based on the Titanium variant of the current model.
The upcoming Aspire Sports might get the dual-tone exterior which was last seen in the KA+ white and black editions. To distinguish it from a regular version, the exterior will sport dual-tone ORVMs, redesigned front with honeycomb mesh grille, while the rear is adorned with a sporty rear spoiler. The new model will also get an updated infotainment system along with contrast stitched seats and upholstery.
Under the hood, the vehicle will continue to offer existing petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant comes in two engine options – 1.2-litre Ti-VCT and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT where the former generates 87bhp at 6300rpm and 112Nm at 4000rpm, and the latter generates 110bhp at 6,300rpm and 136Nm at 4250rpm of torque. The diesel version is powered by 1.5-litre TDCi that generates 99bhp of power and 215Nm of torque. The smaller petrol engine and the diesel version come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the bigger petrol version comes mated to a 6-Speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
Currently, the Ford Aspire is priced between Rs 5.44 lakh to 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Though the pricing for the Aspire Sports is not known yet, we believe that it might be priced around Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 over the current price. Post launch, it will compete against the likes of the upcoming Hyundai Xcent facelift and the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
