Yesterday we spotted Ford Figo Sports ahead of its official launch and today we bring to you pictures of the Aspire Sports. It is a special edition of the Aspire compact sedan, but with some cosmetic additions to keep in line with the Sports moniker. However, as compared to the Figo Sports, this is a bit more subtle with minimal changes to the overall appearance.
The external changes include larger alloy wheels with a different design. In fact, the design on the alloy is the same as what we saw on the Fiesta sedan before it was discontinued for the Indian market. In addition to the changed alloy wheels, the Aspire Sports also gets some ‘S’ stickers on the side. The cabin is expected to be standard Aspire fare but now with the addition of a touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control as a part of the updated package.
This Sports version is expected to be offered across three engine options- the 1.2-litre and the 1.5-litre (AT only) in the petrol guise and the 1.5-litre four-cylinder mill in the diesel guise. There is also a possibility that Ford may introduce an EcoBoost-engined Aspire as a part of the upgrades. Given the smaller number of changes in the Aspire Sports, we believe that Ford will price this car at least Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 more than the equivalent standard car. However, the EcoBoost-engined Aspire (if it happens) will be priced at least a lakh more than the top-of-the-line model.
