Recently, the Figo Cross was spotted undergoing road test in India and South America. This time around, the Aspire facelift has been spotted on test in Turkey ahead of its official launch in the international market next year. Along with a new engine option, the new Aspire will offer more features. The new Aspire will be launched in the international market first and its India debut is not on the cards anytime soon.
Under the hood, the Ford is likely to introduce a new 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine in the Aspire. This is the same engine which might debut in the new EcoSport as well. Reports indicate that the new engine weighs about 10 per cent lighter than the four-cylinder Sigma motor. The exterior is expected to get cosmetic upgrades in the form of revised headlamps, new alloys and redesigned bumpers. Inside, the vehicle will get revised upholstery for freshness and a redesigned dashboard to accommodate a new touchscreen infotainment system.
The Aspire is available in different lengths around the world. India and South Africa gets the Aspire in sub-four-meter version, while the South American one is slightly longer and gets a larger boot. In India, the petrol version is available in two engine options – a 1.2-litre which generates 87bhp of power and 112Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine that generates 110bhp of power and 136Nm at 4250rpm of torque. The diesel on the other hand gets a 1.5-litre TDCi engine that produces 99bhp of power and 215Nm of torque.
